A Summer’s Day in Florida……

Welcome back to my Shell lovelies!  I hope summer is treating you all well.  Summer in the “Sunshine State” has been a little wet at first but we seem to finally be getting into our intensely hot (however we got nothing on Arizona.  Any readers from Arizona you have my sympathies lovelies.  Stay inside)  routine.  Now that I am sitting on my bed with the intro of  “The Devil Wears Prada” playing in the background I thought now would be a good time to share with you all some of my favorite “Summer to do’s.”  Let’s get started shall we?

Okay given that I am from Florida and am a major Disney lovers I can’t help but suggest a stay at “Walt Disney World Resort.”  Yes it does get VERY crowded given the season and a variety of people either being off or taking time off of work to go where Mickey resides however I would be lying if I didn’t say how magical it is going and being at a place where truly for one day or longer where the thought of work and responsibilities completely subsides well until the bill comes anyway!  However, heading to the “Disney World” parks during the summer is a hard NO for myself.  Yes I am a Disney lover and cannot get enough of my “Happy Place” however, thankfully I am fortunate enough to only live about 3 and half to 4 hours away from it so I save my photo op on “Splash Mountain” until late Sept. or Oct.  I must add though Lovelies that one of my “summer must do’s” that is Disney related but not necessary to have to stay in overly long lines to board a ride is staying at a Disney resort for some R&R.  If there is interest I will gladly write another blog about my Disney resort recommendations!

Another “Summer Must Do” is lounging at home and watching a feel good movie or show.  Lately I have been thinking about getting or requesting for my birthday the series “Mad About You” on DVD at “Walmart.”  Yes, I buy shows that I really love on DVD and no I am not someone that if it is not on “Netflix” I will not watch it.  I’m old school baby.  I need me some 90’s Pre always technology based world, still using house phones and no social media television viewing.  Now i’m not saying that you have to watch this show however do I recommend it? Of course!  Some movies and shows that I suggest that I personally feel that for a good hour or so can help you relax and appreciate film and television for what it has and can bring into our lives whether it be humor, innovation, tears, or just pure relaxation and not having to deal with our actual lives would be:

“Mad About You” – series

“The Goodbye Girl”- film (older and newer version are both great!)

” The First Wives Club”-film

The Office” – series (American version)

Nine Months”- film

You’ve Got Mail”-film

Gilmore Girls”-series

One Fine Day”-film

Other “Summer Must Do’s” of mine would be trying or going somewhere new!  Currently I have gone to a new science museum that has opened in Downtown Miami which is a tourist zone for any readers thinking  of taking a trip to South Florida.  It is called the “Philip and Patricia Frost Science Museum.”  Lovelies I must say this museum was a great place for both adults and kids.  Fun, engaging, and educational along with some panoramic views of Downtown Miami from certain areas of the museum.  I went a week ago for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday. I went into it feeling hopeful that I would enjoy it but cautious as well since I myself am not a science person and left there with a smile on my face and already trying to figure out when I can return with him and my little sister.

Another adventure I will be partaking in this weekend is going to an off Broadway production of “Finding Never land” and “Painting with a Twist.”  I am a Broadway lover and have only seen a handful of productions because I can be picky with which shows I want to go see but I have been very fortunate to have seen the amazing Idina Menzel on Broadway.  But that’s for another blog 😉  “Finding Never land” I hope will be a lovely and wonderful experience/ date night.  It was a show my boyfriend chose who was in a Broadway mood when he came up with the idea to go see it.  We were both watching the “Tony Awards” that evening.  “Hamilton” I shall see you one day!

“Painting with a Twist” I am extremely curious to see how it will go given that I have minimal creativity in my veins but i’m excited!! Can you sense it through your screens? May the painting god’s run within me Saturday night.

I love participating in the arts whether it be a full on personal experience or just viewing it.  Keeps me off my phone which is what I wish for others as well and keeps me and anyone else who joins me in tune with creativity and appreciation for others talents are and who are willing to share it with the world.  I want to live a life not fully centered on myself and doing what everyone else is doing or going.

Now I know many summer must do’s include traveling, going to the beach, etc. but I wanted this blog to be a little bit different.  I wanted to offer a different point of view and suggestions that you might not get somewhere else.

Feel free to read and pass it along and don’t be shy to leave a comment and follow! Have a good one lovelies!

ColourPop Galore……

Good Afternoon lovelies!  Welcome back for blog number 3.  It is pouring today in Miami and while I am binge watching “Pretty Little Liars” (I’m on season 4) and the rain is echoing against my windows and roof  I thought it was the perfect time to pull out the lap top and reach out to my lovelies.

Okay so today I wanted to share my love for the makeup brand “ColourPop.”   I am not a huge make up expert but I do know of some products that this Belle believes is very efficient.  My suggestions will have you looking like a million bucks while you may be feeling like insufficient funds.

Just repeat after me “ColourPop is my new best friend.”

Lovelies this make up brand is only 3 years old but can do so much!  Now let me start by stating that it is incredibly affordable.  One lip product will only set you back $6! Did I also mention that first time customers get $5 off their order?? Oh and currently the site is having a sale.  Free domestic shipping on orders $30 and over.  Lovelies you cannot go wrong with this brand!  I first came across their stuff via Instagram’s popular page.  I would see pictures of their super shock eye shadow swatches….which let me just say you cannot go wrong with either!  Can you tell how much I am in love with this brand??  It wasn’t until an old college friend of mine purchased one of their very popular super shock shadows in the shade “So Quiche” and swatched it on her Snapchat that I took the plunge and placed an order.  Once my package arrived I forever volunteered as tribute to the “ColourPop” God’s.

My personal favorites from the brand are their “Super Shock Highlighters” and “Ultra Matte Lip.”  Both products are highly pigmented and amazing quality while not taking a major chunk out of your wallet.

The shades I highly recommend is “Churro.”  It was a limited edition highlighter which has been back for a few months now and if there is any luck in this world or at least not just in Ireland it will remain on the site.  It is not too dark or light….just right.  It is as described on the website being “coppery peach with flips of gold shimmer and silver glitter.”  Lovelies I promise you this highlighter will be a gem in your make up bag.  “ColourPop” highlighters will set you back $8.00  A few other shades that I believe look fab. are “Candy man,” “Wisp,” “Whipped,” and “Iced.”  Yes I am fully aware that the “Becca” cosmetics “Champagne highlighter is T.D.F. and I will admit that is one of my items on my “Sephora wish list” however these “Super Shock” highlighters will give you that glow that people will be thinking you have slept on a gold mine.

“ColourPop” Ultra Matte Lips will truly make your lips POP!  As I previously stated the products cost $6.00  And they are full size products too!  The Ultra Mattes are true mattes and incase they are too drying for your lips I suggest applying some “Chap-stick” (my favorite is the peppermint flavored one) or some “EOS” lip balm  ( mine is the coconut milk.)  Do not apply heavily just a tad to soften and hydrate the lips.  After a few minuets apply some “ColourPop” Ultra Matte Lip.  The three shades I highly recommend while they have several beautiful and unique shades are “Trap,” Beeper,” and “Bumble.”  Yes, there can be some slight transfer but lovelies I can assure you these products are far beyond worth a slight lipstick ring around your glass.

When it comes to their “Super Shock” eye shadows all are amazingly pigmented and with the right eye shadow primer (my must have is “Too Faced” eye shadow insurance)  your eye shadows will be in a constant state of glow.  The eye shadows are $5.00

My recommendations for a popping eye look for the summer of 2017 are:

  • “Dare”
  • “Coconut”
  • “Cusp”
  • “Sunset Blvd”
  • “cheeky”
  • “Sailor”
  • “Wattles”

Well lovelies the time has come for me to return back to my reality but I shall be back…… Keep Calm and Share my Blog 🙂

A simple night-time secret…..

Welcome back Lovelies!

Tonight as I prepare to lay in bed and drift off to sleep…..don’t even bother questioning the time, I am a night owl;  I decided to write my second blog.  Tonight’s topic of inspiration is actually about my little night-time beauty secret.  The answer is Noxzema.

Yes, this blog is about cold cream.  Did I just sound like a grandma saying cold cream? No offense to any grandma’s out there.  I have two who I love dearly but hey that’s a topic for another blog one day!  But yes lovelies Noxzema is the secret ingredient to my night-time beauty regime.

Typically at night I remove any make up I may have one with a make up remover wipe.  I typically like to buy “Clean & Clear night relaxing all-in-one cleansing wipes” or “Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes.”

My next step is to apply….say it with me lovelies, Cold Cream!  “Noxzema” I have grown up seeing beside my parent’s bathroom sink since…well I could see my parent’s bathroom sink.  My mother started using the product since she was a teenage and has remained loyal ever since.  So “Noxzema” people if you ever read this, send over a coupon or something to Momma Bear…..please? Maybe?  I’ll assume it’s a maybe and move along.

My mother always applies it on her face and certain areas of her skin and it wasn’t until this year that I truly felt just how soft my mother’s skin is.  Her answer is “Noxzema.”  My skin can be a combination between normal and oily mixed in with the occassional acne and blackheads.  Oh how I enjoy being a girl?! Who am I kidding? boys are well….. never mind I love boys, one in particular but again that is a story for another blog.

My mom for years has sung “Noxzema’s” high praises.  Why have a lot of us not heard of it before?  Because they simply don’t advertise it as much anymore sadly.  However, it can always be found at your local “Walmart”,  “Target,”  “Walgreens,” and “CVS.”  While “Noxzema” produces a variety of other beauty related products its “Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream” has been its most successful to date.

“Noxzema”  has so many advantages!  For one it will leave you skin clean and soft.  Lovelies I kid you not you will love how you face feels once you apply this cream on overnight and wash your face the next day.  It’s scent is incorportated with eucalyptus oil which in my opinion smells pure, refreshing, minty, and clean.  Your skin will not leave you feeling dry the next day.  Another use for my wonder cold cream is makeup removal!  Just apply some on, shut those eyes lovelies and wipe off with a wet towel.  Lastly, if you lovelies are preparing for summer and get burned by the oh so hot summer sun feel free to use “Noxzema.”  It helps aide in sunburns and even bug bites.  I’m telling you lovelies if you want an affordable but quality filled beauty product to achieve that soft skin that others will be puzzeled about then “Noxzema” is the answer.  If you wish to add other creams for hydration or acne then feel free to layer it on above the oh so fabulous cold cream.  Personally I have been using “Lancome’s Tonique Confort Comforting Rehydrating Toner.”  It does wonders with my “Noxzema” helping me achieve even more soft skin which I greatly need when I pound make up on my face almost everyday.  A little goes a long way with both products FYI.

So Lovelies I am logging off now, remote in one hand and setting my alarm with the other.  Goodnight and sweet dreams Lovelies.  Tomorrow may you all wake with ultra soft and clean skin…….
